Dr. Wang graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Immunology and also received his medical degree from Stanford University. He then completed his residency training in Neurological Surgery at the University of Southern California and served as a fellow in spinal cord and spinal column surgery at the University of Miami.
Dr. Wang is currently on the faculty at the University of Southern California Department of Neurological Surgery. His research interests include spine surgery outcomes studies, lumbar facet disease, OPLL, and the use of artificial proteins for the treatment of degenerative spinal disorders.
He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, scientific abstracts, and review articles. He has taught over 50 instructional courses to other surgeons and is the innovator of several novel minimally invasive spine surgeries. He is also the recipient of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Mayfield Clinical Science Award (2003) and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Larson Research Award (2005).
